Dude! Nephi like…Killed a Guy!

Author: “And again, I knew that the Lord had delivered Laban into my hands for this cause—that I might obtain the records according to his commandments. Therefore I did obey the voice of the Spirit, and took Laban by the hair of the head, and I smote off his head with his own sword (1 Nephi 4:17-18).”
Nephi was willing to do anything God asked him to. When God did not give him clear instructions on how to accomplish something, Nephi illustrated his faith, obedience, determination, and ingenuity until God finally showed the way. In other words, the path ahead was not always clear, but Nephi always persevered and obeyed God’s will. This reciprocal relationship, whereby God provided the means so that Nephi could strive and ultimately succeed at obeying God’s will, is in part how everyone, including young adults, should understand their relationship to their Heavenly Father.
