Keep turning. Keeep turning. Okay, Stop! That’s Where You Need to Go.

The tortoise beat the hare in the end, but only because the race was so long. I have some advice for the hare: Only run short races, buddy! The same goes for me and blogging; I should only write short posts since I tend to fall asleep in the middle of the long ones.

Enough of my jabber! You want the latest scoop on Y-FAIR? Well forget about it, because we are not Y-FAIR anymore! We are now FAIR’s Rising Generation.

Fair’s Rising Generation, or F-RG–as I’ve taken to calling it, is the next generation of young people giving support to fellow LDS youth over the Net. F-RG is currently undergoing a number of changes such as improving the look and functionality of our website, unscrambling disorganized content, and re-focusing its mission to emphasize building and strengthening testimonies as opposed to mundane apologetics. In the foreseeable future, we will be linking all over the net to places like Facebook and Myspace, You Tube, and various LDS youth communities. In fact, if you’re looking to make a deal with us about advertising, please contact me at hauntfox@gmail.com .

Given this new vision, we want to reach out to youth communities and make ourselves known so that young people will come to us with questions. For example, are you a Latter-day Saint seeking for gospel insights and answers? Do you have a friend who is struggling with his or her testimony? Are you interested in Mormonism and want to know more? Then send us an e-mail by visiting http://youth.fairlds.org/contact.html .  Better yet, join our mailing list and help answer questions! We’re always looking for new recruits! Even though we’re super-busy with changes to the site, we will still answer any email that comes our way.

We’re still working on coordinating our articles section, preparing a F-RG Newsletter, and introducing a weekly podcast that will draw heavily upon visitor-submitted questions.  So I stress once again: Please send us your gospel questions!

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!

An Update Overdue

It’s about time somebody took the reigns on this blog thing of ours and did something useful for it, and, umm, since I’m the only one with the privileges to write on it, I guess that makes me in charge of that little operation.  Shucks!  No, actually I’m really excited to tell you about what’s been happening at Y-Fair these past few months.

A brief summary is that we’ve grown in numbers, gone inter-continental, and made the public more aware of our existence.  We’ve also completed several new articles for our wiki, that can be viewed at http://youth.fairmormon.org/, and begun work on an animated dating video.  Not the least important of our accomplishments is that we’ve got a website that will be updated frequently with news and a form that will allow visitors to send questions to the members of Y-Fair.  Wow!!  And if that’s not enough good news, here’s another thing: the Foundation of Apologetic Information and Research, our parent organization, has given us space at their August conference to ramble about ourselves and our good work.  If you like rambling, you’re definitely gonna like this blog…hahaha.

So for the more dedicated readers, and because I just can’t keep it to myself, or perhaps I’m feeling cruel and wish to bore you with my excessively wordy blog post, I will proceed to tell you about the aforementioned topics…blahh!  That sounds horrible, eh?  Let’s get on with it then!

As I said we’ve grown in numbers, and each member has contributed a great deal to our projects and we value them all very much.  Not the least spectacular of our new recruits is a Brother Koomson from Ghana, who has already contributed with a gripping article that is currently showcased on the wiki.  With the inclusion of this brother from Ghana, we have gone from an international “child” organization to an intercontinental “child” organization.  Hehe, I don’t like calling it a “child” organization, so to protest the appearance of looking childish, I’m putting child in quotation marks.  =)  I’d like to think I am very professional, thank you, so I’m gonna start writing like it.

AHEM!  That dating video is being worked on by the one and only Tommy L.!  He has done an excellent job thus far and has completed the audio portion of the clip, and I was suffice it to say, impressed.  I have high hopes for that video of Tommy’s, it’ll be very cool!

Have you checked out the articles on our wiki?  I always post the newest, complete ones on the front page.  Sister Vickey Taylor, ex-EFY speaker, has been instrumental in providing many of these articles.  Those are some awesome articles and it has been a pleasure working with her in our team voice conferences.  The article-writing on our wiki is reallytaking off, especially in the hands of our newest member David F. and our recently recruited member Steve Smoot.  So watch out for their work!

I’ve gone through three hand-coded templates for our website before I settled on the current one, which can be viewed at http://youth.fairlds.org .  I feel a little guilty about how simple it is right now, but I assure you that it will grow.  Coming Soon is a form that will allow you folks, especially you youth out there, to ask questions pertaining to apologetics of our members.  I’m trying to figure out a good name for this form so send your ideas to my email at hauntfox@gmail.com.  No hate-mail please, I have very fragile feelings…=P.  Actually, some constructive criticism is welcome.  And at least I’ll know that somebody reads this thing.

Well I dunno if you’re bored yet, by I’m sure finished.  Have a good day and keep your eye out for Y-Fair!
